Humaitá is an upscale neighborhood in the South Zone, of the upper middle class, bordering Botafogo, Jardim Botânico, Lagoa, Alto da Boa Vista, Copacabana and Santa Teresa, but with its own characteristics. In it, we can find the most traditional schools in the city and some diplomatic representations, as well as trendy bars and restaurants, with the Corcovado Forest as a backdrop.

It is practically unified by Humaitá, São Clemente and Voluntários da Pátria streets, preserving a residential character. The place is one of the few neighborhoods in the South Zone that still has a large number of traditional and old houses, some of them listed by the historical heritage. The most valued streets are those on the slopes of Corcovado.
